FIFA 19 is getting UEFA Champions League rights, will be released on Sept. 28 | E3 2018

EA has revealed when fans will get their hands on the next installment of the FIFA series in its typical sports block at its main E3 event, EA Play.
FIFA 19 will be launching on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on Sept. 28, 2018 and will feature current Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo as the main soccer player on the front of the box art.
The Champions League will be coming to FIFA 19 after the tournament ended its lengthy association with Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer series, giving fans more competition to play in-game or in career mode.
FIFA 19 will also provide the next chapter in the series’ long-running story mode surrounding Alex Hunter. The campaign started with FIFA 17 and continues in FIFA 19. EA teased fans with potential storylines, including Hunter trying to win the Champions League, which is the major feature that EA focused on during the conference.
FIFA 18 is getting a free trial right now too, which will allow players to play the entire game, including the recently added World Cup mode, for free. An end date for this trial, however, was not announced.
Not much else is known about the game at this time—EA decided to focus mainly on the Champions League rights over revealing new details and modes. This title will likely follow the traditional FIFA trend of releasing a new game with updated rosters and mechanics.
EA also confirmed that Ultimate Team and other familiar modes will be a part of the new game when it releases later this year.
