Bethesda appears to be teasing a new Fallout game on Twitter, just a couple of weeks ahead of E3 2018.

The official Bethesda Game Studios account tweeted out a simple “Please Stand By” graphic today, whose style is unique to the open-world postapocalyptic RPG series. Inspired by the old television graphics of yesteryear, it’s become iconic when related to Fallout. Looks like we may be hearing something about the next installment in the series sooner rather than later.

The “Please Stand By” graphic is accompanied by the #PleaseStandBy hashtag, clearly meant to influence fans to retweet and get chatting about what the studio has brewing. There’s nothing really in the image itself to tell us what could be coming, as it’s fairly generic, but there are a wealth of things it could be related to. Perhaps it’s a remastered version of an earlier entry in the Fallout series, or even a potential sequel to 2015’s Fallout Shelter mobile title.

A few weeks ago, a leaked “E3 schedule” made the rounds online, with a special bullet point listed for a title called “Fallout Nuevo El Paso,” which translates to “Fallout New El Paso,” but as always we should take those sorts of things with a grain of salt. We haven’t heard anything else about that supposed leak, but it’s awfully convenient that we’re seeing this Fallout tease now. That’s certainly something to look out for, no matter how implausible it might seem.

One thing’s for sure: Right now, we need to keep our eyes on Bethesda’s various social media accounts for additional information. It’s leak season, and anything can happen. Hopefully this all means a new Fallout is definitely on the way. It’s about time. Bethesda’s own E3 showcase is happening on Sunday, June 10 at 8:30pm CT, so we’ll likely hear all about whatever’s on the way then.
