Elden Ring was announced back at E3 2019 where it wasn’t playable and didn’t have anything to show both to the public and the press. At the Xbox media briefing where it debuted a brand new trailer and first information.

However, things are about to change, since according to a report the press will get the chance to fix appointments with publisher Bandai Namco to have a first look at the incoming game from the creators of Dark Souls and Bloodborne during Gamescom.

The report comes from the Russian website Igromania (via ResetEra), which doesn’t care about embargos and NDA, it seems, as it claims that “the game that From Software is working on with George Martin” will be shown privately to the press at the German event.

The report seems to be confirming that it won’t be available for hands-on nor hands-off stuff at the public booth of Bandai Namco, where the publisher will instead bring titles such as Supermassive Games’ Man of Medan, Dragon Ball Z Kakarot, and Double Fine Productions’ RAD.

“Unlike Sekiro, which has a heavy focus on action, Elden Ring puts more focus on RPG elements,” game director Hidetaka Miyazaki said back at E3 2019. “Of course, we are not shying away from the fun of responsive melee-based combat, and these elements will be present as well.”

The title is releasing on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2020.
