EA Sports Honors Wayne Gretzky with Limited ’99 Edition’

EA Sports has announced a special ’99 Edition’ of NHL 19 that features a custom Wayne Gretzky cover and bundles several other perks into a time-limited tribute to The Great One. The special edition is available now worldwide as a digital download for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
The 99 Edition features new cover art of The Great One himself and added benefits in Hockey Ultimate Team including the choice of one-of-five Gretzky player items as a permanent addition to one’s rosters, eight gold packs, and the choice of one-of-six NHL legends.
The five variants of Wayne Gretzky include player items from his time with the Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues, New York Rangers, or Team Canada. The six NHL legends that players can choose from include Mark Messier, Guy Lafleur, Marcel Dionne, Mats Sundin, Peter Forsberg, or Brett Hull. No matter the choice, adding these two new items will make anyone HUT lineup better.

The inclusion of Wayne Gretzky is arguably one of the biggest successes for EA Sports in the current iteration of NHL 19 as he joins over 200 playable legends and alumni, the largest contingent of available legends, making this year’s HUT one of the best in recent memory.
The special ’99 Edition’ of NHL 19 is now available for purchase in the respective Xbox One and PlayStation 4 stores but will disappear at an undisclosed future date.
