Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is getting a release date of September 4 for the PlayStation 4 and Steam. The Western version of Dragon Quest has several upgraded features not found in the Japanese version.

The popular role playing game franchise is getting a new release in the west this year. Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is finally heading to the PlayStation 4 and Steam on September 4. This is an exciting time for those that are fans of the series.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age tells the tale of a hunted hero in this standalone adventure. Dragon Quest XI will feature new characters, a beautifully detailed world, finely tuned turn-based combat, and an immersive story that is sure to please fans of the series and those that are new to the world of Dragon Quest.

In addition to delivering over 100 hours of content, the western version of Dragon Quest XI will feature several upgrades and enhancements not seen in the Japanese version. Those upgrades and enhancements include:

  • English voiceovers
  • Draconian quest, a hard mode that offers greater challenges for veteran players
  • Overhauled menus and user interface with graphical enhancements and more intuitive navigation
  • Camera mode, allowing players to take beautiful pictures of characters, scenery, and ferocious monsters in beautiful detail
  • A new dash function and many other system enhancements such as improved character and camera movement
