Dragon Age 4 is officially named Dragon Age: Dreadwolf
More information is coming “later this year.”

Dragon Age fans have been waiting for more information about the fourth game for some time now. We might not have seen the new RPG in action yet, but we do know what it’s called. Dragon Age 4’s official title is Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. Time to update your wishlists with the new name.
The Dreadwolf name was revealed by the Dragon Age Twitter account, complete with a new logo. The first three games had a lot of red in their logos and promotional art, but developer BioWare is going purple this time around. Of course, it’s not just the color change, but the new name that’ll get fans’ heads spinning with new theories.
That’s because we’ve heard this Dreadwolf name before. Fen’Harel, aka the Dread Wolf (with a space in the name), is an Elven deity in the Dragon Age world — a representation of betrayal. Solas, a party member in Dragon Age: Inquisition, was actually given the Dread Wolf title in a post-credits scene. Specifically, it was given to him by Flemeth, who embodies the legend of witches herself. In Solas’ case, it’s revealed that he is indeed the embodiment of the Elven god.
There’s a lot to unpack there, and BioWare acknowledges as much in its accompanying blog post. “Using Solas’ namesake no doubt suggests a spectrum of endless possibilities on where things may go,” it reads. “But at the core of this, like every past game, is you. If you’re new to Dragon Age, you have no need to worry about not having met our antagonist just yet. He’ll properly introduce himself when the time is right.” Solas’ title might be the center of the next game, but you’ll still be tangling with him as your own character.
Furthermore, the blog post promises “more Dragon Age: Dreadwolf [information] later this year.” The game is reportedly on track to release in 2023.
