Detroit: Become Human dated for May release

Quantic Dreams’ upcoming Detroit: Become Human has finally been given a release date. The PlayStation 4 exclusive will be launching May 25, 2018, just in time to still nab a spring debut.
The developer has referred to Detroit: Become Human as its most ambitious title yet, as it follows both Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, both previous PlayStation 4 exclusives. It’s a cinematic adventure game that follows several android charactres as they grapple with the difficulty of living in and among humanity, which tends to see androids as servants or objects.
There are several playable characters you’ll take control of who can (and probably will) die as you progress, and there is no “game over” message to watch out for if that happens. The story will simply progress. You can even rewind time to head back to specific points in the story so that you can change decisions you may have regretted making.
“With this game, we wanted to push our limits by creating the most bending game we have ever made,” Quantic Dream’s David Cage said. “In order to depict the world of Detroit, we have also developed the most spectacular 3D engine we have ever created. We tried to push the limits of the PS4 as far as we could, with hundreds of highly realistic characters, full performance capture, scenes featuring crowds, all with a level of quality that we had never reached before. We have also imagined a new way of playing a story where you are in direct control of a complex story where any of your choices may have consequences.”
It’ll be fascinating to see how this gritty, futuristic tale plays out when it launches this May on PlayStation 4. You might want to brush up on your Quantic Dream knowledge by diving into Heavy Rain or Beyond: Two Souls first.
