Hideo Kojima revealed he and Nicholas Winding Refn are going to meet up San Diego Comic-Con, which is set to kick off on July 18, 2019. The two are going to discuss their relationship with one another, similar to how Kojima and Norman Reedus have spoken about the topic during the Tribeca Film Festival, among other instances.

We do not know the details of this discussion, but it’s likely to involve a panel with the two of them explaining about the incoming game Death Stranding, which is set to release on November 8, 2019, after a long live stream on Twitch along with a similarly extended trailer.

The Japanese game director and designer has only shared a tweet where he showed a photo of him and Refn. Refn is the movie director behind Drive and The Neon Demon among other titles. In the tweet, he details how they are “coming to SDCC 2019”.

It’s worth noting that Refn has a great friendship with Kojima, and he was the one who introduced Mads Mikkelsen to him a few years ago when the game director was searching for cast members for Death Stranding.

It’s also come out that Refn is going to serve as a cast member himself. This detail came up during the latest trailer where we see him playing the character Heartman in the game. While he was scanned and had his face in the story, he won’t be providing any voice acting for the role, similar to Guillermo del Toro. He also will not be doing any of the motion capture work.
