CD Projekt Red head seemingly unhappy with Sony’s decision to remove Cyberpunk 2077 from PS Store

The Cyberpunk 2077 saga continues.

CD Projekt Red studio head Adam Badowski doesn’t appear to be pleased after Sony removed Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store. Sony had delisted Cyberpunk 2077 to performance issues on last-gen consoles shortly after CD Projekt Red had recommended fans to get refunds on PlayStation 4 and Xbox.

As Video Game Chronicles reports, Badowski has recently liked multiple tweets that criticized Sony’s decision to remove the game from the PlayStation Store. While some tweets state that the game’s state is being blown out of proportion, others criticized Sony for not taking a similar decision for Marvel’s Avengers, which had a lot of performance issues at launch as well.

Urging fans to not refund the game, one of the users writes, “The game is playable and is actually a great game insofar as I know. Why not wait until they release some patches, updates, etc?”

Soon after Sony delisted the game from the store, CD Projekt Red issued a statement stating that the decision was taken after a mutual discussion with Sony. However, observers speculated that CD Projekt Red’s earlier statement about refunds compelled Sony to take such a decision. After these recent developments, the speculations seem to be true.

Whether it was a mutual decision or not, these events have surely hurt CD Projekt Red to quite a significant extent. While CDPR has already been unable to maintain its PR image which it has built over the years, the company’s stocks have rapidly fallen as well, which has cost the founders almost $1 billion of wealth.

To make things worse, investors and lawyers are also contemplating a class-action lawsuit against the company for misrepresenting the game. Despite that, a large part of the fan base still believes that the developers will bounce back and be able to recreate the experience they delivered with The Witcher 3 and other titles back in the day.
