Despite the popularity of the newest installment of the Call of Duty franchise, Black Ops 4, the game did not feature a campaign mode that many fans of the series love. Although the online multiplayer is widely acclaimed, gamers wondered when they’d see a solo story mode again.

Fortunately, they didn’t have to wait long. According to the president of Activision, Rob Kostich, the next title will have “an entirely new campaign, a huge and expansive multiplayer world, and some fun co-op gameplay.”

Of course, players don’t have to wait long since he’s talking about the 2019 release of the next installment. Even though the next game will have both campaign and multiplayer elements, the CFO of Activision said they don’t anticipate sales for the 2019’s release to be as good as Black Ops 4‘s sales.

The next title’s campaign will be a welcome return for many Call of Duty players. Even if the multiplayer is generally more popular and the staple of the franchise, the campaigns have given the industry some of the best first-person shooter stories with each game.
