New Expansion Will Come with a Brand New Class and Region

While we did not get a ton of details on the expansion, we do have some key details revealed during the announcement. The new expansion is called Vessel of Hatred and will see the players return to Nahantu from Diablo 2 and will feature the next chapter in Diablo 4’s story, which will focus on Mephisto and Neyrelle following the events of Diablo 4’s cliffhanger ending and reveal his plans for Sanctuary.

In addition, the expansion will see a brand new class introduced to the game, though there are currently no details on what this class will be yet, other than it will be a class never seen before in the Diablo universe. Aside from this, we do not know anything else about the expansion other than its release window of late 2024, so we can expect to hear more about the expansion over the next few months and as the release window approaches.

On top of this announcement, we also got a few details on some more changes coming in Season of Blood, as well as an idea of some features coming in Season 3. Players can expect a new weekly challenge called The Gauntlet, a new leaderboard-style challenge where players can compete to have their characters added to the Seasonal Hall of the Ancients.

Additionally, there will be 5 Unique class rings added that will use powers from Season of the Malignant coming next week, and beginning December 12, Midwinter Blight, the game’s first seasonal activity, will begin and last three weeks, with new content and a red-cloaked terror for players to look out for.

There will also be a new endgame event called Abattoir of Zir that will last six weeks starting December 5, and an Enchanting preview feature for clearer details on affixes for your gear.

To put it simply, Diablo 4 is firing on all cylinders at the moment, with Season of Blood being received well and plenty coming in the game’s future that all look to be positive additions to the game, and players have a lot to look forward to as Diablo 4 continues to grow.
