It’s August, so that means it’s time for a brand-new crop of free PlayStation Plus titles. This month brings some particularly heavy hitters for anyone with an active PlayStation Plus subscription, including the gritty Mafia III and a selection of other great games that you may have missed out on.

Mafia III is the third game in the open-world Mafia series, introducing new character Lincoln Clay, a Vietnam veteran who returns home from war to find his regular civilian life in turmoil. After his family has been murdered by the Mafia, he decides to take revenge on those who destroyed his life and his loved ones as he rises through the ranks to serve up a piping-hot plate of revenge.

If you’re more in the mood for horror, the multiplayer-centric Dead by Daylight is also available, with one player taking on the role of a killer, and three other players acting as survivors. It’s a 4v1 competitive game where the goal is to avoid the killer at all costs, lest you be dragged away to your certain demise. It’s pretty intense.

The rest of the month’s selection includes PlayStation 3 titles Bound by Flame and Serious Sam 3 BFE, as well as the PS Vita’s Draw Slasher and Space Hulk. Sony is also offering a game for a limited time in the form of the VR title Here They Lie, which will be free and up for grabs from Aug. 7 through Oct. 2. It’s a first-person horror adventure that looks like it has some truly unsettling secrets to unravel.

Additionally, the trivia game Knowledge is Power will be free from Aug. 7 through Nov. 6 as well. Make sure you download all of the games for free, so they can be added to your library and re-downloaded at any time further down the road with your PlayStation Plus subscription. You should have a pretty sizable collection by now.
