BioWare’s action/adventure game gets a second chance at an audience.
Electronic Arts’ Access membership program has another notable title in its Vault. The big question is whether players will jump in now that it’s free to them.
The publisher announced today that Anthem is now available on the EA Access service for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Members of the program can find the game in the Vault, download it to their system, and jump in.
Produced by BioWare and released earlier this year, Anthem rode high on a mountain of hype, with marketing and trailers to back it up. Unfortunately, it’s been struggling to find an audience since, with many fans complaining that its online world isn’t as compelling as they were expecting. The developer has updated the game since, fixing a number of its problems, but players were still hesitant.
Hopefully, with its addition to the program, they’ll see a surge pick back up from those curious to see what it’s about. The game didn’t have a featured update during the EA Play presentation a few months ago, so it could use whatever good news it can get.
On top of that, EA Access has another big title on the way in just over a week. FIFA 20 will get a ten-hour trial on the service on September 19, just days before its release on September 24.
So for those that haven’t given Anthem a try just yet, here’s your opportunity to give it a test drive.
