It has been a few years since AMD had a presence at E3, but they will be returning to the expo this year to show off “the next generation of AMD gaming products.” The AMD keynote will be taking place on June 10 at 3 pm Pacific and shall be livestreamed for the world to watch.

At Next Horizon Gaming, AMD president and CEO Dr. Lisa Su will present to a live and global streaming audience details about upcoming products and technologies that will power gaming from PC to console to cloud for years to come. The event will also feature appearances by leading game developers who will provide exclusive looks at some of the most anticipated new titles of the year.

It was thought that we would have to wait until Computex to see what AMD was up to. The question now is what exactly AMD will show off at each convention, as they are only two weeks apart. The smart money is on the Computex show being CPU focused, while AMD uses E3 to showcase some new GPUs. With AMD expecting to launch their Navi architecture GPU later this year, I would expect a look at a budget, mid-range, and high-range card. It is also possible that they unveil some gaming focused CPUs, but I find this to be unlikely.

There have been multiple rumors about what we can expect from Navi, and some of them are impressive but are perhaps too good to be true. There is the talk of a set of cards that can rival Nvidia’s new RTX range but will be priced far cheaper. There is absolutely nothing to back this up, however, and it all feels a little like wishful thinking on the part of eager consumers.

The keynote will be streamed on AMD’s Youtube channel, and will be hosted by Geoff Keighley, and presented by Dr. Lisa Su.
