Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield from the Resident Evil II Remake become new skins in Monster Hunter: World – Iceborne.

Monster Hunter is an action-adventure, video game franchise centered on players hunting and killing rare mythical animals in a fantastical land. The most recent entry in the series, Monster Hunter: World, released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows in Jan. 2018. The game received positive reviews from critics. Last September, World released a new expansion called Iceborne.

Today on the Monster Hunter Twitter account, a new video was released. The footage revealed original skins based on Resident Evil are coming to the game. The skins are Leon and Claire from the Resident Evil II Remake.

The video also showed there a new gathering hub based on Resident Evil, specifically the Spencer Mansion from the first Resident Evil game. Zombie-based enemies are also coming to the game; in the video, they haunt the new mansion area.

There is a scene in the video showing the zombies being playable, as a group of zombies is shown attacking a monster using the standard Monster Hunter tools. It is unknown if this means they will also be skins, or if this will be a new game mode. Later in the video, they are shown dancing, which is possibly a reference to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” Mr. X, one of the primary antagonists from the Resident Evil II Remake, will also be a skin.

Probably the most shocking news is of a tofu-based weapon coming with the Resident Evil update in Iceborne. The tofu is a reference to the fact that you can play as giant tofu in the extra features in Resident Evil II.

We don’t know if the Resident Evil content is coming as a free update or paid DLC. The video ends slating that the content will be available in Monster Hunter: World – Iceborne in November.
