Yet another compelling Death Stranding rumor debunked. Diane Kruger, who’s been for some reasons attached with the female protagonist role in the upcoming Hideo Kojima game, has denied she’s a part of the PS4 exclusive.

Kruger has recently visited Japan, particularly Tokyo, for a promotional tour for the movie “In the Fade” and has met Hideo Kojima, as confirmed by some nice photos she shared on Instagram together with the game director.

However, one of the photos makes a clear reference to the rumor and claims, as a hashtag, that “even though I’m a big fan, I’m not a part of Death Stranding.” How did she come to know about the project? Simple: her boyfriend is Norman Reedus, the male protagonist of the title.

It is worth noting that, while all these rumors about the female protagonist possibly being a Hollywood star, there might likely be already an actress in the Death Stranding crew playing such role: it’s Emily O’Brien, who’s been spotted in a mo-cap suit together with Reedus and Kojima himself.

Curiously enough, Kojima doesn’t seem to be too interested in unraveling the mystery yet, since no female character has been showed in the three previous trailers thus far. Knowing him, it’s quite sure a mind game to push even further the hype, and we’re fine with this.

Death Stranding still doesn’t have a solid release date attached, but there’s a probability that a “2019” windows gets attached to it at the end of a much likely E3 fourth trailer later this June.
