Far Cry 5 Season Pass buyers will receive a special bonus from Ubisoft, it will not only provided access to the three DLC content: Hours of Darkness, Dead Living Zombies, and Lost on Mars, but players will also get free access to Far Cry 3 Classic Edition (single-player content only on PS4 and Xbox One, full game access on PC). The access to Far Cry 3 classic edition will be available 4-weeks prior to launching as a standalone purchase in Summer 2018. This is what Ubisoft told us in a press release. Sadly, there was no clarification on whether this Far Cry 3: Classic Edition is going to be just a re-release or a fully remastered edition?

Far Cry 3 Is A Re-Release Not Remastered - Ubisoft

Our friend at GamerHeadquarters got it touch with a Ubisoft representative and this is what he/she replied: “Far Cry 3 will be a re-release, not a newly remastered version of the game.”

This response should put all doubts to rest and those who are saying that a remastered edition would have been a better choice, here’s what I think – giving a free access to Far Cry 3 on current-gen consoles itself adds a great value to the overall package.

Furthermore, Far Cry 3 is one of the top rated games in the series. It was critically acclaimed upon release, with critics praising the world design, open-ended gameplay, and storyline. The most exciting part of the game is the lead antagonist Vaas. Enjoy the story trailer of Far Cry 3 below.
