But talking about the era, this time it is will be having a Egyptian or Mayan era. Before the game began with Greek Era and then the latest installment was planned towards Norse mythology, instead of continuing with the same the developer planned to bring something unique.

First seven games were based on Greek Mythology and the new installment was planned to go with Norse mythology. The statement indicates there will be possible more to see this time.

“Moving on, the next mythological belief system he interacts with became the Norse era of God of War. But we may end up going on to the Egyptian era and the Mayan era and so on and so forth” said the director Cory Barlog while talking to Gamespot.

Barlog further added that God of War franchise needs to be bigger than what it is right now, he pointed towards the level of Assassin’s Creed in terms of popularity. The growth expectation looks to be a foremost inspiration in twisting down the story to something unique.

God of War release date is not yet finalized, the game will be coming exclusively on PS4.
