When is Discord voice chat coming to PlayStation?
It’s been a long time coming.
The community platform Discord has made itself a well-known entity within PC gaming over the years, offering nearly unparalleled voice chat and community organization functions for millions of users. Whether users are looking to intertwine themselves with hundreds of different communities, or simply host a small area on the internet for their friends to hop into voice chat and play some games, Discord is the unequivocal one-stop-shop. The popular communication service has already made its way onto the Xbox platform, but when will it come to PlayStation?

When will PlayStation 5 get Discord chat?
If you are a PS5 beta software tester, you can get access to Discord chat integration on the console right now. For everyone else, the feature is said to go live soon, likely March 8, but that date has not been confirmed as of this writing. If you have access to the beta testing period, you will get an email that gives you a code to put in to download the content and then you can link your accounts and begin talking with friends and people in server calls.
Unfortunately for people still playing on last-gen hardware, Discord is not coming to PS4, at least yet. All of the testing and future full release version of the software has only been announced for PlayStation 5 owners. At this point, it is unlikely for Sony and Discord to put in the effort to get it working on the older consoles.

Similar to talking on Discord on Xbox, you will need to download the Discord app on your mobile phone to access it on PlayStation 5. Make sure your app has the latest update downloaded and you can control all of the functionalities from both your phone or console.
