What is the release date of WWE 2K22?

When can wrestling fans return to the squared circle?

During Wrestlemania 37 weekend, Take-Two and the WWE confirmed that the WWE 2K franchise is making a comeback. After a year-long hiatus meant to change the core of the gameplay engine, simulation wrestling action will return to consoles with the upcoming launch of WWE 2K22. But while we know that WWE 2K22 will be launching in the near future, do we have an idea as to when the new game will actually launch? Yes.

On April 10, 2021, WWE and Take-Two aired the first teaser for WWE 2K22, highlighting gameplay from an early, work-in-progress build. The teaser showed off improved graphics, but that was about it. Take-Two ended the promo by stating that more information will be made public in the near future.

After that trailer aired, it took us a while to receive some more official details on WWE 2K22. In fact, the next time we would hear anything concrete on the new game was fourth months later during the E’s second-biggest pay-pay-view of the year, Summerslam. Take-Two and the WWE aired a full-length trailer that showed off some of 2K22’s new graphics, plus a brief look at its gameplay.

On January 20, 2K confirmed that WWE 2K22 will launch on March 11. Individuals who purchase the special edition of the game will get three days of early access, beginning on March 8.

Traditionally, WWE 2K games launch sometime during October. The most recent WWE 2K game, WWE 2K20, launched in October 2019. The same can be said for WWE 2K19, which launched in early October of 2018. But that will change for WWE 2K22, as the release date aligns up well with this year’s WrestleMania.
