Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is a remaster of THQ Nordic’s action RPG. With the game leaning heavily into those role-playing mechanics, you can increase your character’s skills, abilities, and more by leveling up as you play.
Depending on what RPG you play, each one will have a different level cap that you can hit. For some, reaching level 50 or 100 gives their player base a nice, round number to hit. However, others don’t subscribe to that and end up including a different max rank in their titles. Which category does Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning fall into then?
Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning does have a round number for you to hit, but it isn’t as high as level 50. The max level you can reach in the remaster is level 40. This hasn’t been altered from the original game, so the max rank you can reach is the same as it has always been.
While a level cap of 40 doesn’t seem that high, it is offset by the number of ability points you will have earned by that point. If you reach the max rank in Re-Reckoning, you will have gathered 120 ability points. These can be added to three skill trees for your character, Might, Sorcery, and Finesse, which grant active and passive abilities.
It is possible to have ability points in each skill tree, but you will likely want to focus on one more than the other to fit your personal playstyle. You can also respec your skill points if you aren’t happy with your character’s abilities. Bear in mind, though, that it costs gold to do this, and that price increases as you rank up to level 40.
