Best TAQ-V Loadout in MW2 & Warzone 2: Attachments, Perks & Playstyle
The TAQ-V is a different breed of weapon and we’ve got two dominant loadouts for you to try in MW2 and Warzone 2.0.
Call of Duty fans have been obsessed with the TAQ-V’s older brother, the SCAR-H, since the original Modern Warfare 2 launched back in 2009. This popularity is the reason Infinity Ward designed three different versions of the weapon for both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0, giving us the gift of TAQ-56 and the TAQ-M as well.
Those other two guns are useful too, but the TAQ-V can be an absolute monster in both arenas and stands a hair above the rest of its weapon family overall. Our Loadout guide for the beloved weapon has all the answers no matter which game you’ve decided to take over.

Best TAQ-V Loadout in Warzone 2
Honestly, the TAQ-V is not a great weapon in Warzone without the right tunings. The high-powered Battle Rifle will certainly shred enemies, but good luck hitting them, as the natural recoil makes it near-worthless in long-range engagements. Thankfully, these attachments, tunings, and perks solve that problem and transform it into an unbelievable beast.
Ranked Play TAQ-V | Attachments |
---|---|
Muzzle | Sakin Tread-40 (+.50, +0.15) |
Barrel | 18″ Precision-6 Barrel (-0.42, +0.35) |
Underbarrel | FTAC Ripper 56 (+0.50, +0.28) |
Ammunition | 7.62 High Velocity (-0.45, -4.35) |
Magazine | 50-Round Drum |
It’s a beautiful blend of precision, range, and power here. The Sakin Tread-40 Muzzle, 18″ Precision-6 Barrel, and FTAC Ripper 56 Underbarrel work in harmony to bring the recoil down, making it an unrecognizable version of its untuned self.
7.62 High Velocity Ammo keeps the gun feeling snappy, as your shots will register in a flash even against enemies that are pushing you from a country mile away. It’s rare to run into just one enemy at a time too, and with such a slow reload speed, the 50-Round Drum is an absolute must-have if you want to take down a whole squad.
The perks for this loadout mostly revolve around keeping an SMG in your back pocket, so keep that in mind if it’s not your thing. Of course, that means Overkill is the star of the show, as it’ll give you a chance to add one of the SMGs from our best Warzone 2.0 Ranked loadouts list to the class. The VEL 46 is a solid option here, as it pairs well with Fast Hands, which is another essential piece of the puzzle.
Your final two perks will likely depend on your playstyle, but we recommend taking Double Time to keep up with squads that may try to run away from you, and then slapping Ghost on for good measure, as it’s definitively the strongest layer of protection in all of the game.
Round all of that out with a Throwing Knife or Semtex as your Lethal to finish off downed opponents, and then toss in a Smoke Grenade in your Tactical spot for good measure. It has unmatched versatility and will help you escape into the night like nothing ever happened after a fight.
Best TAQ-V Modern Warfare 2 Loadout, Attachments, & Perks
Our Modern Warfare 2 version of the loadout still aims to bring the recoil down, but it also speeds up the weapon, as it’s far too slow to be competitive against true Assault Rifles, and will get steamrolled by any half-decent SMG player if they get close.
Here’s the ideal setup:
Modern Warfare 2 TAQ-V Loadout | Tunings |
---|---|
Muzzle | SA Leveler 55 (-0.60, +0.20) |
Underbarrel | Demo Firm Grip (-0.45, +0.20) |
Laser | FSS OLE-V Laser (-0.22, -35.0) |
Stock | Tactique Brute Stock (-1.50, +1.40) |
Grip | Demo Cleanshot Grip (-0.50, -0.20) |
Here’s another example of each attachment working in harmony with each other to create a much more powerful weapon than before. Our SA Leveler 55 Muzzle, Demo Firm Grip, and Tactique Brute Stock hold hands as they keep the recoil in control, and the FSS OLE-V Laser and Demo Cleanshot Grip work as the legs, making this three-shot-kill machine move faster than it ever has in its entire life.
Our build does have one glaring weakness – no extended magazine means that you have to be deliberate with your bullets. Missing two shots in back-to-back gunfights could mean coming up empty-handed versus a third opponent. That’s why Fast Hands is the only must-have Perk for this build. Otherwise, use the options that feel most comfortable for you.
Multiplayer Lethals and Tacticals are also more volatile, but you can never go wrong with a Semtex Lethal and a Stun Grenade Tactical in any given match.
That’s all for the TAQ-V. If you’re itching to try another strong, versatile weapon in both games, give our Fennec 45 Loadout a shot.
