Facepunch Studios multiplayer-only survival title Rust is all about one thing: surviving. Players spawn with nothing and compete against each other. Whether building up defenses as a solo player or banding together with others, one will have to overcome hunger, thirst, and cold as they venture forth into the world.

However, the game is much more graphic intensive when compared to other multiplayer survival titles. Rust features realistic elements like foliage, buildings, weather, and terrain compared to the block-based textures of fellow open-world title Minecraft

Players meeting the minimum system requirements can indeed start playing Rust. However, the quality of gameplay on a computer running the recommended hardware will make all the difference. This is because a high frame rate is important for multiplayer survival titles like Rust where Co-op and PVP modes are enabled.

The possibility of lagging while trying to defend your base is never something anyone wants. This is even more apparent in popular servers since the increase of nearby players and structures will overload less powerful machines.

Players can choose to turn off settings like anti-aliasing, depth of field, motion blur, and more. In addition, one can lower shadow quality, water reflections, particles, and overall graphics quality to increase their frame rate.

Nevertheless, this will only do so much. Players will still have to meet the minimum system requirements in order to have an enjoyable experience playing the game.
