A notable feature in Pokemon Masters is teaming up with your friends in an online mode to fight in the three vs. three battles. You want to call in a friend when you’re having trouble with a particular battle in the game. Adding another player and their Sync Team can genuinely make a difference. Here’s how you go about unlocking the coop mode in Pokemon Masters.

Unlocking Coop Mode and Multiplayer in Pokemon Masters

Unlocking and Using Coop Mode

You’re going to naturally unlock the Coop mode in Pokemon Masters by playing through the game. The option does not happen until chapter 11. It’s reasonably far into the game, so you’re going to need to rely on your Pokemon team and their Sync Pairs to see you through each of the battles. When it does unlock, though, you’re going to need to add them to your friend’s list. You cannot use the Coop mode in Pokemon Masters without having someone on your friend’s list.

To add someone to your friend’s list, you want to give them your 16 digit ID code. You can find this in your profile, in the game. For those who already own a Nintendo Switch and synced it Pokemon Masters, you can use the same one. Anyone who joined the game without a Nintendo Switch profile got one when they made the account. You can find it in the Poryphone, on the lower right-hand section of the screen. Click on the phone, and you can find it at the top of the screen. Copy the code and send it to your friend. If they send you their code, you can go to the Friends section of the Poryphone to input the code and add them.

How to Use Pokemon Master Unity Attacks

From the start of Pokemon Masters, the game has a brand new move called the Sync Move. It’s a unique ability all Pokemon can use after they perform nine different attacks during a battle. When you’re in Coop made, you’re going to have access to a brand new move called a Unity Attack.

To properly use a Unity Attack in the Coop Mode, all the Pokemon on your side need to have full move gauges. When those gauges are complete, they can unleash a devastating attack against your opponent, combining their strength into one strike. You’re going to get excellent results from relying on this ability, primarily if you can communicate and plan a strategy with your partner. You don’t want to rely too heavily on it, especially if the opponents are consistently attacking you while you’re waiting for the gauge to fill up.
