Minecraft Dungeons, the dungeon crawler RGPG spin-off of Mojang’s iconic franchise, drops on May 26. As Minecraft fans and newcomers alike prepare for its arrival, now is the best time to see if your PC will be able to run the game.
As with most PC system requirements guides, we’ll detail what minimum and recommended specifications you’ll need in order to handle Minecraft Dungeons. Let’s waste no more time finding out the information for each, and help you decide if your PC can run it.
Minecraft Dungeons minimum system requirements
Let’s see what the minimum specs are that you’ll need to run Minecraft Dungeons first. These are the bare minimum requirements to handle it, but most PCs will have specs that exceed this. You should be fine either way, but you can double-check by reading on.
- Operating system – Windows 10, 8, or 7 64-bit with the latest updates. Some Minecraft Dungeons functionality isn’t supported on Windows 8 or 7 though, and isn’t supported on Windows 10S
- Processor – Core i5 2.8GHz or equivalent
- GPU – Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7870 or equivalent DX11 GPU
- Memory – 8 GB RAM, 2 GB VRAM
- Storage space – 6 GB
- DirectX – Direct X11
- Monitor – 800 x 600
Minecraft Dungeons recommended system requirements
Curiously, there aren’t any official recommended system requirements listed by Mojang or Microsoft. The game’s specifications page only lists what minimum specs you’ll require
According to that same page, however, Minecraft Dungeons‘ performance will scale with higher end systems. That means that, regardless of what specs you have, as long as they’re above the minimum requirements you’ll be able to run it without any problems.
The only thing you must ensure is that you have the latest update for Windows, your graphics card, DirectX, and Microsoft Visual C++ Resdistributable for Visual Studio. If you’re golden on these, you can launch Minecraft Dungeons with ease.
