Diablo 4 has arrived, and this highly-anticipated dungeon-crawling adventure has everyone jumping into the game to play it. Unfortunately, so many people are attempting to play the game, and the servers can’t contain it.
Because Diablo 4 has launched with such high praise, the servers will be under a lot of stress when everyone attempts to begin playing the game. When experiencing Diablo 4 server issues, knowing the best way to find out if it’s Blizzard servers or anything on your side is a good idea. Before jumping into the game, here’s what you need to know about checking the Diablo 4 server status.
The Diablo 4 server status
On July 27, 2023, Blizzard support started investigating an issue with their authentication servers. Some players reported having the error “Start Game Pending” and were unable to log into Diablo 4. Unfortunately, the servers were likely taking a beating as multiple players attempted to get into the game, and it’s struggling to accommodate everyone. The team has shared that due to these current issues, it’s extremely likely anyone attempting to jump into the game will likely receive issues.
Some of the best locations to check if the Diablo 4 servers are down are by visiting the DownDetector webpages for Diablo 4 and Blizzard’s Battle.net. If the Battle.net page is down, chances are so is Diablo 4, but if Diablo 4 is down, Battle.net might still be working, which is a good thing if you need to play other games to kill time until the servers return.
One of the best ways to check the Diablo 4 server status is by going to the forums page Blizzard set up for the game. Here, you’ll find all kinds of information about the beta, including the server status. In addition, it lets you check to see what other players are experiencing, potentially helping you solve any issues you’re happening quickly.
Alternatively, one can check social media applications like Reddit and Twitter. The Diablo IV sub-Reddit will usually have posts regarding any technical problems like server outages, maintenance, and other issues.
Now as far as Twitter goes, users can either search ‘Diablo IV’ or ‘Diablo 4’ on Twitter to see what other players are writing regarding their experiences. Or, you could check the official Diablo Twitter page. Usually, the social media admins will state any known issues and solutions.
If you are having issues that are being reported by the Blizzard team, our best advice is to wait these out problems and see if the servers cool down later before returning to the Battle.net page to try playing Diablo 4 again.
