Disney Mirrorverse is the latest in a long line of “hero collector games” in which you take characters and slowly build them over time to make stronger and stronger teams. This guide will explain every step of the upgrading process in Disney Mirrorverse, where to find these resources, and how to use them.
XP Motes
XP motes are the basic building blocks of leveling up characters in Disney Mirrorverse. These are used to increase a character’s level. There are two different types of XP motes: universal and class-specific. Universal motes are white and can be used by anyone at any time, whereas class-specific motes can only be used on the corresponding class type.
For example, you can only use green motes on characters with a green emblem. XP Motes are broken down into three specific tiers, and unfortunately, once you reach level 20 with a character, you can only use tier 2 motes. Once you reach level 50, you can only use tier 3 motes. You will find XP motes by completing most of the campaign missions in the game.
Using gems
In Disney Mirrorverse, once you reach the max level for your rank, you need to use gems to unlock the level cap and be able to use more motes. Just like XP motes, gems come in both universal and class-specific types. Unlike XP motes, however, you need class-specific gems in order to advance. Gems will usually be acquired in secondary modes like events. Certain class gems will only be available on specific days so make sure you log in every day to make your roster as versatile as possible.

Stars and Shards

The biggest and most rewarding jumps are going to come from upgrading star levels. Unlike most hero collector games, shards of characters are not exactly farmable. They are spit out of loot boxes in the form of Crystals. Crystals are the primary thing the game is going to force you to spend currency on. Once you collect enough shards, you will be able to gain a star. When a character has reached at least 4 stars, they will unlock a signature ability, which can be upgraded by pulling dupes of that character.
