Warcraft 3: Reforged has Blizzard returning to the classic 2002 real-time strategy game where the factions of Warcraft fought one another on an open field of battle. For some, it may feel like a great time to jump online and play the game with others, testing their skills against friends to see who among them can win. It can also be a good bonding experience for friends to team up against others, or powerful AI, to see who comes out on top. To do that, you need to set up a private match.
To create a private game, you need to go into the main menu and go to the custom games options. From there, you should see a massive list of available games going on all over the Warcraft 3: Reforged server. If your friends have already set up a game, you can use the search bar to look for it and hop in. However, if you’re creating the game, go to the bottom of the screen and hit the create button.
You now have the option to name your game, make it public or private, choose the type of map you want to play on with your friends, the game speed, and select several options in the advanced menu. You can choose from an array of maps that hold from two players, going head to head against each other, or a 12-person map for utter chaos. You have the option to upload some of your maps if you have those available on your computer.
When you’re ready to launch, have it set up and start the game. You should see several open slots available on the screen, and click these to invite friends to them, close the slots, or make them AI units. The friends you invite should be friends with you on the Battle.net application. When you have everything ready, and all participants have chosen a faction and team, hit the start game on the bottom left to begin the match.
