How to scan QR code in Genshin Impact for the ‘Wish Upon a Lantern’ event

The Wish Upon a Lantern event is underway in Genshin Impact. This is another web-based event, and PlayStation users will need to scan a QR code to be able to take part in it.

This seems to be giving people some problems, so in this guide will tell you what to do.

Step 1 – Open Paimon Mail

Open up the Paimon menu by hitting the options button, then select the Paimon Mail icon.

Step 2 – Click on the mail

You will need to highlight and then click on that mail to bring up the QR code that you need to scan.

Step 3 – Scan the QR code with your phone

Open your camera app on your phone, then aim it at the QR code. Make sure the entirety of the QR code is on the screen, and it should scan it, then give you a long link. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and select the option to open the link to take part in the event. This method is basically identical on iPhone or Android, and if it doesn’t work the fix is the same.

If this does not work, you will need to down a dedicated QR scanning App from the App Store or Google Play. We used an app called QR and Barcode Scanner which successfully read the QR code.

The first thing you will see on the event page is a cute recap of your time spent in Genshin Impact so far. After that, you can earn lanterns and release them to get rewards by checking the daily challenges section.
