Cross-play has never been so easy.

Call of Duty: Warzone has released, and so far fans are loving Modern Warfare’s take on battle royale. The guns, map, and new features of Warzone are a breath of fresh air in a somewhat stale genre. However, while it’s fun to play by yourself or with a random party, wouldn’t you much rather hop in with some friends?

If you’re like a lot of players in the community, then you’ve got friends who play on different systems. Whether it be PC, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One, you rarely have a group of friends all on the same platform.

Luckily, in Warzone you don’t need to be on the same system as your friends to team up. Just like in Modern Warfare, cross-play is enabled, meaning you can join a lobby with a PC player if you’re on console and vice versa.

The way you do this is exactly like in the standard version of Modern Warfare. Simply add a player by their Activision ID, which is a customized name and unique number tag. If you don’t know how to find this, go to Activision’s website and log-in to your account. If you don’t have one, then make a new account.

Once you’ve logged in, go to “Profile” in the top right corner of the screen. This will bring up your Basic Information, where you can find “Activision ID.” You can either add your friends with their ID’s or they can add you. You’ll know you’ve gotten a friend request when it appears in the “Social” tab of Warzone. Make sure to include the full name with correct capitalization and the entire number tag when adding a friend.

If all goes well, accept the friend request, join the lobby of your teammate, and you’re all set to play Warzone.
