Doors may not be able to keep you safe from ghosts in Phasmophobia. Previously, the strategy from escaping a ghost hunting you while you were investigating it was to go to another room, close the door, and not make a sound. If you didn’t make a sound, the ghost couldn’t find your location, and things were even better for you while you were hiding inside of a locker or a closet. But now, a ghost has the ability to open these doors and find you inside of it.

A ghost will have no problem investigating a closet or a locker if they think you or one of your teammates is inside of it. This makes them even more deadly than they previously were, and being able to stop a ghost from opening a door is critical.

To stop a ghost from opening a door, all you have to do is look down at the handle and hold it. You have to hold it as if you were to open the door, but don’t move the door forward or backward to swing it open. By holding the handle, a ghost can’t swing a closet door open and find your location.

The fact that ghosts can now investigate lockers and closets increases a ghost’s intensity entering a hunt. If a player enters a room and doesn’t have any idea of where they’re going to hide when this happens, they’re almost certainly a goner, unless they get lucky and find themselves on the opposite side of the house where the ghost is going wild.
