Jedi: Fallen Order follows the journey of Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis, who survived the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and went into exile following Order 66. He survived on his own for so long, until Inquisitors came hunting for him. When a former Jedi and a smuggler rescue him, he gets thrown into a galaxy full of turmoil and takes steps to become a Jedi once more.
The game features Cal as he relearns what it means to become a Jedi. During one point of his journey, he has to remake his lightsaber and chooses a new lightsaber crystal. As a player, after this point, you have the chance to recolor your saber to make it an array of different colors, such as blue, green, orange, purple, cyan, magenta, and more. But can you have a red lightsaber?
Following an update that released on May 4, the unofficial Star Wars holiday (sounding an awful lot like, “May the force be with you”). The update introduced a new game plus mode called New Journey+. This mode allows players to replay the game with all of the cosmetics they unlocked during their first playthrough, but it does not grant them access to any of the abilities.
You can only access it once you have beaten the game once. When you play it, you can freely alter Cal’s outfit and lightsaber colors to them any of the customizable choices. By beating the game once and playing in New Journey+, you have access to the exclusive Inquisitor outfit Cal sees himself wearing in a vision during Fallen Order, and you can choose his lightsaber color to red. You must beat the game first, and you have to play on New Journey+ mode to access these exclusive pieces of content.
The new game mode also unlocks the Meditation Training modes where you can play Combat Challenges and Battle Grid. The Combat Challenges feature 12 different tailored challenges to test your combat skills, giving you a rating of one to three stars based on how well you complete the challenge. The Battle Grid allows you to create unique challenges, using an array of enemies you can find all over the galaxy, and even face a dark version of Cal.
All of this came through a free update, available to everyone who has purchased Fallen Order and have the main game.
