Where to find Blood Key in V Rising

Blood Key is a 27 gear level item, which is the highest gear level currently in V Rising. It can only be acquired when you’ve completed the story quests followed by defeating Solarus the Immaculate. That said, it’s not as simple as it may seem since Solarus is probably the hardest boss to beat in the game.

How to beat Solarus

Solarus is a level 80 boss that can be found in Fortress of Light, which is on the eastern side of Silverlight Hills. The boss has three phases, each with unique attack patterns. Before fighting Solarus, make sure you have several health potions in your stock. Furthermore, avoid entering the battle if your gear and weapons are below level 80, as it’s going to be incredibly difficult.

Phase One

Solaris has three basic moves in his first phase and gains another one when low on health. The boss channels for a brief moment during his first move and then charges toward you. If he successfully lands the attack, you’ll take damage and get stunned. While channeling, he emits two waves of sparks that deal damage over time. Solaris emits wave sparks that go behind him than towards you for his second basic move. Like the first move, the wave will also damage you over time if it hits you. Lastly, the boss sends out a rolling sword that splits halfway through and returns to him. At around 60% health, Solaris creates rings on either side, which continuously emit sparks waves.

Phase Two

When around 50% health, Solaris will enter phase two and summon an angel to fight alongside him. Similar to Solaris, the angel has three attacks, those being:

  • The angel shoots four balls of light toward you. If it hits you, it will deal damage and knock you back.
  • She will lunge towards you with her spear dealing heavy damage if it lands successfully.
  • The angel performs a three-strike melee attack.

When the angel is around 40% health, she will start emitting spark waves that are similar to Solaris’ attack. It’s recommended not to kill the angel as she will become immune to damage when low on health. Furthermore, she will regenerate all her health, and you’ll have to start again with phase two. Instead, bring down Solaris to 10-15% health which will trigger his final phase.

Just before the third phase, Solaris will go to the center of the battlefield and become immune to damage. Here, he will start regenerating health until he fully recovers or you kill the angel. Once you kill the angel, Solaris will enter the final phase where he will summon the angel again, now as the fallen angel.

Phase Three

Solaris will start the final phase with full health alongside the fallen angel. He will use the rolling sword attack again, but instead of the sword splitting into two, it will now split into four sections. When around 60% health, Solaris will jump on top of you, incapacitating you and dealing heavy damage. At 50% health, Solaris will repeat his attacks from phase two, which will continue for the rest of the fight. Once you kill the fallen angel, a timer will appear, roughly around 2.30 minutes. If you manage to take down Solaris within the time limit, the battle will end, but if you cannot kill the boss, the fight will resume from Solaris’ phase two again.
