How to get Litten, Rowlet, and Popplio in Pokémon Sword and Shield using Pokémon Home

Bring Litten, Rowlet, and Popplio over to Sword and Shield using Pokémon Home

Transferring Pokémon has become a lot easier with the use of Pokémon Home. You can now store almost every Pokémon you have encountered since the first games on a digital platform, and you can bring them over to Pokémon Sword and Shield. You can even receive more mystery boxes, play with the wonder box, trade Pokémon, and have your Pokémon judged. With Home, the trio of starter Pokémon from Pokémon Sun and Moon, Litten, Rowlet, and Popplio, can now make their way over to the Galar region.

To bring them over, you need first to transfer them to the Pokémon Bank. This is a subscription-based service where you can transfer all of your Pokémon from your Nintendo 3DS games to an online format. You can hold up to 3,000 Pokémon on this platform. You do need to sign up for the service to use it when you submit payment for it and transfer them over from your Sun or Moon game from your Nintendo 3DS to your Bank.

Much like Pokémon Bank, Pokémon Home holds your Pokémon on a digital platform. To transfer between the two, you first need to download it to your preferred service, your Nintendo Switch, or an iOS or Android smartphone. After you wrap up the tutorial, you need to purchase Pokémon Home’s premium service, which consists of three different subscription options.

  • One month: $2.99
  • Three months: $4.99
  • 12 months: $15.99

You can sign up for the premium service from the Nintendo Switch’s eShop or the application on your mobile device. After you have all of that taken care of and you connect Pokémon Bank to Pokémon Home, you can move your Litten, Rowlet, and Popplio to your Pokémon Home box. From there, you need to connect your copy of Sword and Shield to your Pokémon Home application, which is done by hitting the Pokémon icon on the main menu from your Nintendo Switch Home application.

Once your copy of Sword and Shield has synced to Pokémon Home, you can freely move your Litten, Rowlet, and Popplio over to the game. You should find them in one of your boxes when you fire up Sword and Shield. It’s important to note that once you transfer a Pokémon from your Bank to Home, they cannot return to the Bank.
