You can greatly increase the aesthetic look of the flora on your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons by cross-pollinating them to make a brand new flower color. These flowers have a mixture of looks from the two, making them stand out.
The first thing you want to do is create a three by three space laid out for all of the flowers. You can pick out any spot on your island that would look great with flowers, but make sure it’s three by three. Now, before you can make hybrids, you need to plant the original, common flowers in that three by three. There needs to be spacing between them. So, you can create an “x” formation of flowers, or a cross, but make sure they are spaced out from one another and leave room in the middle.
With the flowers in their proper placement, it’s all about patience. You want to continue to water them every day, go on with your daily business, and wait for those hybrid flowers to blossom. There are a variety of combinations, and we’ve only discussed a small handful with roses, such as using white and red to make pink, yellow and red to make orange, white and yellow to make purple, and red and red become black roses.
Similarly two black flowers such as roses can become hybrid red, which opens up more hybrid options that lead to blue roses and potentially even gold flowers down the line.
There are a variety of combinations for each type of flower in the game, so much sure to try some out and place them all over your island. Place them all over your island to improve the environment for your residents, and show them off to your friends.
