Gold Armor is one of the more sought after items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. If you want to be dressed head to toe in shiny golden armor, you will need the DIY recipe to make it.
The most likely way you will get the Gold Armor DIY Recipe is from another villager on your island, although you may also get it from a Gift Balloon, or a message in a bottle.
It can take a very long time for this recipe to appear in your game, so all you can do is play as much as possible until you get it. Even worse than the recipe itself, you will need eight Gold Nuggets to make it. You have a very low chance of getting a Gold Nugget by mining a rock.
If you are specifically looking for Gold Nuggets, use the highest tier shovel, as the type of equipment you use will impact the drop chances of resources. This is to make sure people can correct upgrade through the different tiers at the start of the game, but can be used to our advantage when we are farming for certain resources.
Once you have all eight Gold Nuggets, you can build the Gold Armor at a crafting table.
If you are struggling to get Gold Nuggets, make sure you use some of your Nook Miles to buy Nook Miles Tickets. You can use these to travel to the Mystery Islands that will contain lots of resources that you can farm, including rocks. The number of rocks on your island is limited each day, so this is a great way to get extra resources each day.
