Some Pokemon, like Galarian Slowpoke, evolve using more complicated methods than traditional level-ups or stones. To get these Pokémon to their next form in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, you’ll need to know which items to collect and how to use them.
One of the Pokémon you’ll encounter in The Indigo Disk DLC is the Galarian Form of Slowpoke, which means you can evolve it into a Galarian Slowbro and Galarian Slowking. However, doing so isn’t straightforward and will require collecting and crafting specific items: the Galarica Wreath and Galarica Cuff. After some careful exploration of the Coastal Biome, I unlocked the secret to finding these Galarica items and evolving Galarian Slowpoke in The Indigo Disk DLC. Here’s how it works.

How to Evolve Galarian Slowpoke in The Indigo Disk DLC
To evolve Galarian Slowpoke in Scarlet & Violet, you need to find an item called a Galarica Cuff or a Galarica Wreath. These items are said to make Slowpoke very happy, so happy it immediately evolves when you hand it over. The Galarica items are used up through this process, so if you’re trying to build a Galarian Slowbro and Galarian Slowking army, you’ll need to obtain more Galarica Cuffs and Galarica Wreaths.
In The Indigo Disk, you can get both a Galarica Cuff and Galarica Wreath by finding a friendly NPC who enjoys weaving Galarica Twigs into particular items. Once you find her and give her the required number of Galarica Twigs, you’ll be able to get a Galarica Cuff or Galarica Wreath for your Slowpoke to evolve into a Galarian Slowbro or Galarian Slowking respectively.
How to Get a Galarica Cuff and Galaria Wreath in The Indigo Disk DLC
To get a Galarica Cuff or Galarica Wreath in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, you need to find the NPC who likes to weave things out of Galarica Twigs, then collect enough Galarica Twigs for the item you want. Here’s the number you’ll need for each of Galarian Slowpoke’s evolution items:
- Galarian Cuff: 8 Galarica Twigs
- Galarian Wreath: 15 Galarica Twigs
Where to Find the NPC Who Makes Galarica Cuffs and Galarica Wreaths in The Indigo Disk DLC
The crafty Galarica NPC is located in the Coastal Plaza of the Coastal Biome in Blueberry Academy’s Terrarium in Scarlet & Violet. The Costal Plaza is near the northern beach area, and this NPC hangs out in the center of the Plaza near two vending machines. You’ll spot her with an overhead yellow and orange dialogue box that says: “Over, under, around we go…”
When you talk to the Galarica NPC, she’ll offer to make you a Galarica Cuff or Galarica Wreath if you gather enough Galarica Twigs. She suggests you look around the Coastal Biome, but finding these items is a bit more specific than that.
Once you have enough Galarica Twigs in your possession, go see her again, and she’ll craft you the item, which you can use to evolve your Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowbro or Galarian Slowking.
Where to Find Galarica Twigs in The Indigo Disk DLC
Finding Galarica Twigs in The Indigo Disk can be a bit tricky, but you can collect them fairly quickly if you know where to look. So far, I’ve only found Galarica Twigs in one location within the Coastal Biome.
Just behind the Coastal Plaza, you’ll find a small sandy beach where a ton of Galarian Slowpoke like to hang out. This beach is full of Galarica Twigs in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, which are random sparkly items you pick up from the beach. As far as I can tell, every item on the dry sandy part of the beach is a Galarica Twig. The sparkly items in the water along the edge of the beach are a random assortment of things, but there’s nothing but Galarica Twigs on the sand itself.
Thus far, I haven’t found the twigs anywhere else in Scarlet & Violet, which means you can only collect so many at a time. Then, you’ll have to wait for the items to respawn before you can get more, meaning it may take a little bit of patience to get enough twigs to evolve your Galarian Slowpoke into both a Galarian Slowbro and a Galarian Slowking. I found about 10 or so before I had to wait for more to respawn. But the good news is, this beach is super close to the NPC who crafts the items for you, so you won’t have far to go once you’ve got your twigs in hand.
Should You Evolve Galarian Slowpoke Into Galarian Slowbro or Galarian Slowking in The Indigo Disk?
If you don’t want to gather the necessary 23 Galarica Twigs to evolve two Galarian Slowpokes, then you’ll have a choice to make: craft the Galarica Cuff for a Galarian Slowbro or a Galarica Wreath for a Galarian Slowking? Galarica Wreaths require more effort to craft, so a lot of players may naturally gravitate toward Galarian Slowbro just based on being able to do so more quickly. But Galarian Slowbro and Galarian Slowking are two very different Pokémon with different attributes.
Both Galarian Slowbro and Galarian Slowking are both Poison / Psychic dual-type Pokémon with the same amount of total base stats, but the stat distribution is spread differently, with Galarian Slowking being a more specialized Pokémon and Galarian Slowbro being a more versatile Pokémon:
Stat | Galarian Slowbro | Galarian Slowking |
---|---|---|
HP | 95 | 95 |
Attack | 100 | 65 |
Defense | 95 | 80 |
Special Attack | 100 | 110 |
Special Defense | 70 | 110 |
Speed | 30 | 30 |
Whichever Galarian Slowpoke evolution you choose in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is entirely up to you, but it’s hard to argue against Galarian Slowking. It may take more effort to weave a Galarica Wreath in order to obtain Galarian Slowking, but its increased Special Attack and Special Defense when compared to Galarian Slowbro make it both a stronger and more defensive option. So I would definitely recommend saving up those Galarica Twigs for the superior Galarica Wreath.
