How to breed turtles in Minecraft

Turtles in Minecraft are considered a common passive mob that moves on both land and in water. Breeding turtles in Minecraft is relatively easy — This guide will walk through the key steps in order to breed and hatch turtles.
The first thing you need to do is to collect Seagrass. Seagrass vegetation can be found in various water bodies, including swaps, rivers, or oceans. Once the Seagrass is located, you’ll need to break it down with a Shear. A Shear is a tool used to obtain or break down many items, including Wool, Ferns, or Tallgrass. Smaller Seagrass plants will drop one Seagrass, while bigger Seagrass plants will drop two Seagrasses.
Now, it’s time to locate a pair of turtles. Turtles are found on warm beaches, usually together in small groups. Once the duo is found, equip the Seagrass to your primary utility slot and right-click on each turtle. The turtles will begin to breed; they will then lay their eggs on the beach area they originally spawned from. The eggs are incredibly fragile and can easily be trampled on if left unprotected, so be sure to supervise them closely.
The time it takes for the eggs to hatch is completely random. Once hatched, the baby hatchlings are exceptionally vulnerable to predators, requiring around the clock protection before reaching adulthood. The potential baby turtle predators include Zombies, Wolves, Skeletons, and Foxes, to name a few.
At last, it’s time to partake in the journey towards turtle adulthood. Thankfully, the growth rate of baby turtles can be sped up. Seagrass can speed up the growth rate by 10% for every Seagrass that is fed to the turtles.
