When you think of games made by Ubisoft, the Assassin’s Creed series will likely be the first you think of, especially if you have been following the company since the PS3/Xbox 360 era. While the company has many other great franchises, the history of the Assassins has continually brought back people every time a new one is released.

The digital video game storefronts seem to be filled with Assassin’s Creed games, many of which are often on sale for cheap. That being said, how many times has a new Assassin’s Creed game been unleashed into the wild? Here are all of the games in the series, including spin-offs, but not re-releases, nor DLC packs.

As of this writing, 28 unique Assassin’s Creed games have been released since the original came out in 2007, with 12 of them being mainline titles, and the rest being spin-off games. There are more on the way, with Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, and upcoming projects like the Assassin’s Creed: Infinity platform. There are also Assassin’s Creed games that have no relation to the franchise, other than using its name for branding purposes, such as The Tower: Assassin’s Creed, and they won’t be included below, as they are not part of the series.

Many of these titles were created for mobile devices and handheld consoles, and their quality often reflects the weaker hardware’s limitations. The upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Infinity could mark a huge departure for the series, as it’s a live-service platform that will act as a hub for future games, including the multiplayer modes. This means that the future of the franchise could be broken down into updates for Assassin’s Creed: Infinity and the age of the standalone releases that have happened for over fifteen years might be coming to an end.
