How long will It Takes Two take to complete?

I've got a new idea for a name for this game. It Takes Two Dozen.

Josef Fares is one of the more interesting and entertaining game developers to keep up with. Everyone knows about his thoughts on the Oscars, but what we love hearing him talk about are the video games he works on. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and A Way Out were both really well received, and we are waiting anxiously to see It Takes Two when it releases later in 2021. We are expecting good things from the game, but how long will it take to play? Here is how long it should take to complete It Takes Two, according to Josef Fares.

In an interview with GamingBolt, Fares says, It Takes Two should take somewhere between 14 and 15 hours to complete. Like his previous games, It Takes Two will focus heavily on cooperative play through its narrative of two lovers turned into dolls to rework their relationship. So much so that solo play will be impossible like with A Way Out. There always needs to be two players in this game.

Fares also says that there will be no time spent looking for collectibles with all that time playing the It Takes Two. Although there will be exploration aspects where you can interact with things and play dozens of mini-games spread throughout the world, he feels everything you do in the game will not be a waste of time. Hazelight Studios seems committed to making this world feel alive and weird at the same time.

If Fares is to be believed, It Takes Two will double the time needed to complete A Way Out. That game clocked in between six and eight hours to finish from beginning to end, and in terms of gameplay, sounds similar to what you will see in the new game. The increase in time is not unheard of, especially when you consider Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons took about three hours before A Way Out was released, so they have doubled their content before.
