Every unit in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes can use Battalions. These units will aid the character using them in combat, giving them more benefits than if they were to operate by themselves. Each Battalion you use will be different, and they how operate varies significantly from when they appeared in Three Houses. In this guide, we’re going to cover how Battalions work in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.

How to use Battalions

A Battalion will be multiple units aiding your characters in battle. Every character in your house can use them, but they provide passive buffs. You can earn them by completing side quests, from Survey locations, as a mission reward, or you can directly purchase them from your camp’s Battalion Master through the Battalion Guild.

When reviewing a Battalion, you can see how they will aid your characters in combat. These units will grant these characters a distinct advantage against a type of unit and have it, so they take reduced damage against that class.

Each Battalion will require a specific rank in Authority for a character to use, highlighted by the letter next to their name. You can increase a character’s Authority ranking by unlocking classes. For example, the Advanced Classes have access to a B rank in Authority, and Master Classes will receive a rank A in Authority.

Although some classes may share the exact Authority rank requirement, it comes down to the passive associated with it and its level. For example, two rank C Battalions may both have the Resist Tomes passive, but if one has a level three in it and the other has level four, the level four Battalion will provide a better passive bonus.

You can swap out Battalions before battles. We recommend checking back with your camp’s Battalion Master to see if any new ones have appeared at the start of a chapter.
