Does Project Winter have crossplay?

Want to play with your friends on another platform?

Project Winter drops eight people onto a desolate wintery mountain with only the surrounding environment’s resources to survive and escape before the traitors in the group eliminate everyone else. While being on the Steam marketplace since May of 2019, the game is now going to see an expanded audience by coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Game Pass. Cross-platform play is quickly becoming available in more titles and expected in games on multiple platforms. Will players be able to take advantage of the influx of people playing Project Winter on either Steam or Xbox One via crossplay?

Yes, Project Winter supports crossplay between Steam and Xbox One. The functionality is active by default, but you can check and make sure in the General section of Settings. If you would instead turn crossplay off, you can do so here.

You can tell what platform others are playing on by seeing the symbol next to their Gamertag. Obviously, an Xbox logo denotes an Xbox player, while a keyboard is on Steam.

If you are worried about a competitive disadvantage between console and PC players, there is very little difference between the two control methods. Keyboard and mouse players see no advantage over controller players because of how the game is set up and plays.
