Does Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies have wonder weapons?

They were late.

Wonder weapons are about as classic of a Call of Duty Zombies feature as any other function you will see in the side mode. These powerful guns with unique abilities will get you through many tense situations and make your journey into later rounds much easier. Treyarch popularized wonder weapons since their beginnings, but Call of Duty: Vanguard has changed quite a bit from the normal formula. Are there any wonder weapons in Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies?

What wonder weapons are in Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies?

Even though Treyarch developed the Zombies in Call of Duty: Vanguard, they did not include any wonder weapons in the game at launch. For whatever reason they decided to do that, fans were unsurprisingly not happy with the missing powerful guns. That being said, the most classic of all wonder weapons, the Ray Gun, was later added in an update to the game and can be obtained on any map from the Mystery Box.

The game’s first Zombies map, Der Anfang, never got its own unique wonder weapon, but there have been some in the following levels. Terra Maledicta got the Decimator Shield, and the return of Shi No Numa also brought back the classic Wunderwaffe DG-2.

With these in play, we expect any potential future maps also to receive wonder weapons, but we would be surprised for anything really ground-shaking or particularly unique to be featured. The team working on Vanguard Zombies is very small, while the larger groups focus on future projects. Don’t expect anything too special to be added to Vanguard Zombies, considering the overall popularity for this iteration of Zombies being very low.
