Best moveset for Cresselia in Pokémon Go

Cresselia is available for limited amounts of time in Pokémon Go. You can find it as an encounter for five-star raids. You may have received it as a reward for completing special tasks, such as the Throwback Challenge Pokémon Go held back in May 2020. When you catch Cresselia, you want to make sure you have the best moves available to make use of it in the Great or Ultra league.

Cresselia is purely a Psychic-type Pokémon. It has a maximum CP of 2,857, an attack of 152, a defense of 258, and stamina of 260. It’s not a choice you want to take to the Master league, but its a solid option for trainers who can keep Cresselia lower than 1,500 CP for the Great League, and is an even better choice for Ultra. It’s weak to Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type attacks but excellent against Fighting and Poison-types.

Fast moves

• Confusion – Psychic-type (12.5 DPS)
• Psycho Cut – (Psychic-type) (8.33 DPS)

Charge moves

• Aurora Beam – Ice-type (22.5 DPS)
• Futuresight – Psychic-type (44.4 DPS)
• Grass Knot – Grass-type (34.6 DPS)
• Moonblast – Fairy-type (33.3 DPS)

Of the available fast moves, confusion is by far the best option for Cresselia. It’s a solid choice and something you want to see on any Cresselia, regardless of whether you use it primarily for raids or PVP. When it comes to a charge move, that becomes a bit more tricky.

While grass knot is a legacy move, it’s probably not the best option. It’s a Grass-type attack, and Cresselia cannot optimize it as well, since it is not a Grass-type. You’re better off to avoid having it on your Pokémon. You primarily want to focus on it having moonblast or futuresight, and futuresight is the best option. It has the highest DPS among the possibilities, and Cresselia will do bonus damage whenever it uses it.

Cresselia is only available in five-star raids for limited times, so when it’s in the current rotation, try using your Elite and basic TMs to change its moves.
