2-Step Verification PS4 Error: Fix For Verification Code, Backup Code, Incorrect Password Issue

This 2-Step Verification (PS4) guide is about some of the common issues faced by PlayStation fans such as “didn’t receive a verification code or backup codes, 2SV text message error” and many others. We have listed below fix for some of the most common 2-Step Verification issues.

PS4: 2 Step Verification Error Guide

If you want to sign in on Bravia, PS4 and Web browser, verification code is needed and for other devices, device set up password is needed.

  1. Sign in with your account password and select [Resend Code].
  2. Select [Did Not Receive Text Message] > [Sign-in Using Backup Code].
  3. Enter the Backup Code.

1: Can’t receive a Verification Code, Aware Of Backup Codes

If you want to sign in on Bravia, PS4 and Web browser, verification code is needed and for other devices, device set up password is needed.

  1. Sign in with your account password.
  2. Select [Did Not Receive Text Message] > [Sign-in Using Backup Code].
  3. Enter the Backup Code.

2: Can’t receive a Verification Code, Forgot Backup Codes Signed-in on PS4 or web browser or PS App

  1. Go to the 2-Step Verification menu in the Security section of Account Management on web browser or on your PS4.
  2. Go to [Settings] > [PlayStation Network/Account Management] > [Account Information] > [Security] > [Two-Step Verification].
  3. Go to the [Backup Codes] section, write down or save them.
  4. Enter a Backup Code to sign-in.

3: Can’t receive a Verification Code, Forgot Backup Codes, Can’t sign-in to my PS4 or [account management] via web browser

  1. You cannot sign in to your account so Contact us for help.

4: Received a 2SV text message, but I haven’t changed this setting

  1. You need to contact us, If you get a verification code without your involvement but before that make sure to change the password

5: Getting Incorrect Password Message While Trying to sign-in

  1. Google TV, MediaGo, PSN Downloader, PlayStation Now on PS3 or PS Vita do not support 2VS so they will show as wrong password if you try to sign into them, when 2VS is switched On.
  2. You need to disable 2SV to sign-in and reactivate it once you are finished.
  3. You need to enter right device setup password or last received verification code for signing in on other devices.
