When you bought your copy of Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu or Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee, you’ll most likely have bought one of two versions: the base game either via the Nintendo eShop, a physical copy, or the more expensive version that comes with the Pokeball Plus. Unfortunately, the only way to get Mew in Pokemon Let’s Go is to own the Pokeball Plus controller. If only there were a Pokemon Let’s Go Mew version, eh?

When you’ve got the Pokeball Plus, connect it to your game by opening the options menu and going to Controller Settings. It’ll light up red on the screen when you’ve successfully connected it. You’ll now see a splash screen that tells you there’s a Mystery Gift waiting for you.

Go back to the main menu, click on Communicate then Mystery Gifts. Select “Get with a Poke Ball Plus” and connect to the internet. Voila! The Pokemon Let’s Go Mew will appear on your screen.

In Pokemon Let’s Go, Mew starts as a level one. We’d recommend making this one of the very first things you do in-game so that Mew can level up in sync with the rest of your party.

There’s a couple of things to note and cool tidbits of information about Mew too:

If you set Mew to follow you outside of its Pokeball, it flies and swoops around your character. Plus walking along with a Pikachu and a Mew would make you the best trainer without a doubt.

You can only get one Mew per Pokeball Plus though so make sure you don’t buy a second-hand controller because there’s a good chance Mew will already have been obtained.

Mew is also one of the very best Psychic-type Pokemon in the game, so definitely include it in your squad and don’t let is accumulate dust in your box.
