To make the man go barefoot, you need to take one slipper while he is reading the paper and hide it. Wait until he is reading the paper, then slowly sneak up and grab the slipper by bending over and interacting with it. When you have it, run to the hole in the fence you used to get into the garden. Take the slipper through and drop it on the other side.
You want to knock down the fence before you grab the slipper because the man will chase you the next time you get here. Go back to the man, who should return to reading his paper, and grab the paper out of his hand. Run to the fence and take it through, then drop it on the other side.
By taking his paper, you give the man no choice but to go back and drink his tea. When he does, his other foot will be raised, allowing you to grab the slipper. You can’t sneak here, because he will see you coming. Dash around the corner and grab the slipper off his foot. You don’t need to take it anywhere; you only need both slippers to be off his feet at the same time to get this task completed.
