Any outlaw worth his salt has a trusty steed, and in Days Gone Deacon’s bike will be yours. You might think that two wheels, an engine, and a place to sit are all you need, but as you play through the game, you will want to upgrade your bike to be more powerful. When you need to make a quick getaway, you will be glad you gave your bike some much-needed attention.

How To Upgrade Your Bike In Days Gone

Upgrade The Bike

To upgrade your bike in Days Gone you will need to rely on the various Encampments in the game. Encampments are protected settlements of people who are also trying to survive in the harsh world of the game. First, you will need to gain Trust with them. Trust is a measure of Deacon’s relationship with encampments, and it can be increased by performing various jobs for the Encampment.

Everyone has something that needs to be done, and while it might be too dangerous to risk their own neck, they are often happy to ask Deacon to do it for them. The first Encampment you come to in the game is Copeland’s Camp, in Cascade. As you do jobs for the camp, you will earn more Trust, and this allows you to use the mechanic.

The mechanic in Copeland’s Camp is a man by the name of Manny. Visit him, then interact with him by hitting Square on your controller. You will see that Manny can upgrade Deacon’s bike. There are three different types of upgrades available; performance, paint, and visual. For now, we want to focus on performance; it is a little early in the game to worry about how our bike looks when we can improve how it performs.

If you pick performance, you will be able to pick from upgrades to the Engine, Exhaust, Storage, Fuel Tank, Frame, Nitrous and Tires. After you pick one of those options, you will be able to see the cost of the upgrade and the level of Trust you need with the camp to be able to get it.

Which upgrade you want is going to depend heavily on your preferred playstyle, so think carefully before you buy one. I’d strongly advise upgrading the Fuel Tank as early as you can, as more fuel is a pretty universal bonus to all players. You really don’t want to get caught in the middle of nowhere with an empty gas tank!
