In this God of War Walkthrough – Mother’s Ashes, Kratos and Atreus are on their last journey towards the Realm of Giants, also there is a secret ending.
In previous Chapter 15 Jotunheim in Reach, Kratos and Atreus had a fierce fight with Baldur, which is the main boss of God of War. Finally, after defeating in Chapter 16 Mother’s Ashes both continues to the Realm of Giants for the final rites.
Mother’s Ashes Walkthrough
Return to Tyr’s travel room
Take the boat and return to Tyr’s travel room. You have to paddle back to the lake of nine and the huge circular structure in the center is where you have to return. Once done open passage to Jotunheim. Once the passage is open again there will be a cutscene, take the stairs towards the highest peak.
Find Jotunheim’s highest peak
Go all the way upstairs, towards the peak. You will come across a bridge, cross that and you will be between big statues. You can survey the area for revealing a story about the giants. Look at the statues, and go left at the end. Look for a passage in between the walls, which will trigger a cutscene.
After Atreus touches one of the walls, the story behind Kratos wife is revealed through carving on the wall. Which tells that she is also a giant and everything that has happened in the life of Kratos and his son.
Scatter her Ashes
After the cutscene, go outside towards the peak until the end and there will be a final cutscene where Kratos and Atreus scatter the ashes. They will also see a lot of dead giants around the mountains. Once done return to the Tyr’s temple to play the left of side-objectives.This is the end of God of War, there is also a secret ending.
God of War Secret Ending
To see the secret ending you will have to return to Midgard, and you will be back on the bridge on Lake of Nine. Next use the Mystic Gateway, to Home. Enter the house, and rest. Once you are near the bed there will be a cutscene. It is Thor, and the game ends.
