In professional wrestling, steel cage matches are rather straightforward. In order to win, you can attempt to pin or submit your opponent inside the cage. Or, you can try to escape the cage by either leaving through the front door or by climbing out of the structure. In WWE 2K Battlegrounds, the match works a little bit differently, and you’ll have to know how to navigate your way through the cage, especially since there will be several of them in Campaign mode. So, how do you win a Steel Cage match? Let’s go over what you have to do.
At the start of the match, you and the opponent will start out with an empty Money Bar, which is new for WWE 2K Battlegrounds. The goal is to fill that bar all the way to the top, and to do this, you will have to pick up bags of money that will be randomly placed on the walls of the cage. Once you find a bag, move your wrestler over towards the bag, and then scale the cage using LB (for Xbox) or L1 (for PlayStation).
To hold and pull down the bag, you will need to hold LB/L1 down for a short period of time. You will need to watch the circle around the LB/L1 symbol, as once it fills up, you will have successfully grabbed the bag. However, keep in mind that the opposing wrestler can prevent you from grabbing the bag by attempting to pull you down from the cage. Make sure that when you attempt to grab a bag, you have sufficiently weakened the opponent enough. This should buy you enough time to pull the money down.
There will also be money circles that will appear on the ring apron at random. To grab those, just move your wrestler towards it using the left stick.
Once you have fully filled the Money Bar, you then can attempt to leave the cage. Scale your way up the cage by, and then press and hold the button that appears on the screen once you reach the top. After you do that, the opponent can only watch as you escape the cage and come out of the match on top.
